Motion to recognition of Dr. Jamira Duffy for her dedication to the employees and City of Delray Beach from May 2015 through January 2019.

Background:
Dr. Jamira Duffy joined the staff of the City’s Employee Health and Wellness Center in May 2015. She became a major force in taking an underutilized employee benefit and turning it into a highly resourceful and efficient hub for employee health and wellness. It is with great regret we now bid her farewell and congratulate her on her new position.
In an era when most patients feel rushed and not heard, Dr. Duffy has consistently demonstrated she cares by taking the time to listen, hear her patients concerns and promptly address those concerns. She has recognized employee health issues in the early stages and helpd guide them through their care. Had it not been for her actions, several of our employees might not be here today.
She is a physician who knows, understands and truly advocates for her patients. She has provided nothing short of EXCELLENCE in the level of care she has offered to our employees.
“More than the application of science and technology, medicine is a special calling, and those who have chosen this vocation in order to serve their fellowman understand the tremendous responsibility it entails.” President George H. W. Bush as he proclaimed March 30th as the annual date to celebrate National Doctor’s Day.
Dr. Jamira Duffy lives these words. Her services to the City of Delray Beach, its employees and their families will be greatly missed.
