Motion to approve Resolution No. 32-19, retroactive approval with Dean Mitchell Group, for the total amount of $112,955.81 and approval to continue with remediation work utilizing the balance of the budgeted amount for F/Y 2019 $262,044.19 for estimated cost total of $375,000, and authorize the City Manager to approve renewal options, in the same amounts, contingent upon appropriation of funds.

Background:

On July 1, 2018, The School District of Palm Beach County, Florida approved the award of an Agreement for Indoor Air Quality and Infectious Disease Services with Dean Mitchell Group (RFP 18C-018L). This Agreement is for the purpose of performing water damage repairs including hurricane recovery response, indoor air quality (IAQ) cleaning, mold remediation, IAQ and HVAC assessments, ventilation assessments, IAQ cleaning, flooding incident response (gray and black-water), verification sampling, A/C duct cleaning, drywall and wall cavity repair, floor and wall ceiling repairs, painting and encapsulation, mold sampling and analysis, water intrusion investigation including testing and minor building envelope repairs, infectious disease cleaning and sanitization.

 

Approval of Resolution No. 32-19, retroactive approval for the total amount of $112,955.81, to Dean Mitchell Group, for invoice Nos.751800569 and 751800362 due to additional unanticipated mold remediation work that occurred at the Police Department and Fire Rescue Station Headquarters No.111 facility based on an indoor environmental evaluation. In addition, approval of an agreement with Dean Mitchell Group for continued remediation work for a not-to-exceed amount of $262,044 through June 30, 2020. Should the City exercise the renewal options provided in the contract, the cumulative contract value is provided below.

The City of Delray Beach (City) and Dean Mitchell Group agree to utilize the same terms and conditions as outlined in The School District of Palm Beach County's contract RFP 18C-018L with the City. The School District of Palm Beach County’s Agreement with Dean Mitchell Group was competitively solicited and was awarded based on full and open price competition.

 

This motion is in accordance with Code of Ordinances Section 36.02 Commission Approval Required.

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Funding will be available from account number 334-22-000-522.46-20 (Repair and Maintenance Service Building Maintenance).

Timing of Request:

Approval of this agreement allows the City to continue to provide mold remediation and environmental cleanup of facilities in a timely manner.
