Recommendation
Motion to adopt Resolution No. 36-19 and approve an award of an agreement to Shenandoah General Construction Company for sanitary sewer rehabilitation and infrastructure repair for an estimated cost of $620,000, utilizing the City of West Palm Beach's Contract No 16200, and authorize the City Manager to approve renewal options, in the same amount, contingent upon appropriation of funds.
Body
Background:
On September 21, 2015, the City of West Palm Beach awarded Contract No. 16299 to Shenandoah General Construction Company for Sanitary Sewer and Stormwater Rehabilitation and Infrastructure Repair. The contract term was for three years, through September 20, 2018, with renewal options for two additional one-year periods. On May 11, 2018, the City of West Palm Beach exercised its first renewal option, extending the agreement through December 31, 2019. The City of Delray Beach Utilities Department (DBUD) is utilizing that contract to provide sanitary sewer inspections, rehabilitation, and miscellaneous repair services for the utilities sanitary sewer system.
The DBUD's Water and Sewer Network Division programmed the use of contract services for sanitary sewer system inspections and maintenance/improvements services in their annual operating budget. This contract provides resources for promptly televising, cleaning, and performing repairs to sanitary sewer system underground pipes that may experience operational issues.
This motion is in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances, Section 36 and City Policies and Procedures.
