Motion to approve Resolution No 47-19 for purchase of locksmith hardware parts and equipment from Electronic Access Specialists d/b/a Southern Lock & Supply, Inc utilizing the Collier County Contract No. 18-7340 in the estimated amount of $100,000 and authorize the City Manager to approve renewal options, contingent upon appropriation of funds.

Background:
On June 19, 2018, Collier County awarded an agreement to Electronic Access Specialists d/b/a Southern Lock & Supply, Inc, for locksmith hardware parts and related equipment. The agreement is valid from June 19, 2018 through June 19, 2021 with the option to renew for an additional two, one-year periods.
Municipal buildings pose security challenges since they are open to the public, therefore local governments must provide security measures in municipal buildings to effectively protect their employees, citizens, assets and information. One commonly used and relatively affordable countermeasure to mitigate risks is the use of electronic access controls. Several years ago, The City of Delray Beach (City) implemented the extensive use of electronic locks. This less expensive security measure has proven to be very effective.
Electronic Access Specialists d/b/a Southern Lock & Supply, Inc. is a local industry leader for locksmith hardware parts and equipment; staff recommends award of an agreement to Electronic Access Specialists.
Should the City exercise the renewal options provided in the contract, the cumulative contract value is provided below.
