Motion to approve the Second Amendment to the Interlocal Agreement (ILA) between the City of Delray Beach (City) and the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for Funding of Transportation Services for operations of the Downtown Roundabout for up to two months in the amount of $80,000 beginning on May 1, 2019 and ending on June 30, 2019.

Background:
In 2006, the City of Delray Beach (City) and the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) entered into an interlocal agreement in which the CRA agreed to contribute to the cost for a local shuttle bus service. The City established the Downtown Roundabout local shuttle bus service utilizing Trolleys and has operated every year since 2006. The free Trolley operates from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. There are two Trolleys operating on one route, which has 23 stops in total between the Tri-Rail station on Congress Avenue and the Municipal Beach through the downtown business core.
In September 2018, the City was notified that the CRA would no longer fund the Downtown Roundabout. Since the City did not include funding in the City’s 2018/2019 budget, operations of the Downtown Roundabout ceased as of October 1, 2018.
