Motion to adopt Resolution No. 75-19 to award an agreement with Continental Construction USA for alley construction in Blocks 63 and NW 5th Alleys- $519,442.

BACKGROUND:
As part of the Community Redevelopment Agency's (CRA) Work Plan for Fiscal Year 2018-2019, the CRA is managing the Block 63 Alley and NW 5th Alleys (3 alleys between MLK Jr. Dr. - Lake Ida Road) construction projects on behalf of the City of Delray Beach (City). On December 27, 2018, the City issued an Invitation to Bid Construction (ITBC) No. 2019-005 for the Block 63 Alley and one of the alleys associated with the NW 5th Avenue Alley project (Block 17 Alley). The scope of work for the construction contractor is to construct the two (2) alleys in accordance with Construction Documents and the City of Delray Beach standards and specifications. The total construction time is one hundred and twenty (120) total days.
On February 1, 2019, the City received a total of (5) responses to the ITBC:

West Construction, Inc. $714,500.00
City Staff reviewed the required documents provided by the five companies who submitted all bids for the project and recommend that the low bidder, Continental Construction, Inc., be awarded the contract in a not to exceed price of $519,441.65.
The motion is in accordance with the City Code of Ordinances, Section 36 and City Policies and Procedures.
