Discussion of the 2019 FIU Delray Beach Competitive Assessment and Cluster Strategies Study recommendations.
Background:
On March 28, 2019, the Delray Beach Office of Economic Development and Kevin Greiner of the Florida International University Metropolitan Center provided top-level highlights of the City’s first-ever Competitive Assessment and Cluster Strategies Study. Due to time constraints, the team was not able to adequately discuss the study’s recommendations with the City Commission. By reviewing and discussing the study’s recommendations, it will help the City's economic development team to get a sense of the City Commission's interests in pursuing or prioritizing any of the study's recommendations in order to advance strategies designed to grow Delray Beach leading industries, provide greater economic opportunities for all and to increase the City’s nonresidential tax base.
