Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with the Palm Beach County Drowning Prevention Coalition (DPC) Learn to Swim Program for payment of swimming classes/lessons to the City of Delray Beach, FL (City), for the provision of swimming classes/lessons to individuals who present vouchers issued by the DPC Learn to Swim Program. Palm Beach County (County), through the Drowning Prevention Coalition's Learn to Swim Program, distributes vouchers to the public which may be redeemed for swimming lessons at Pompey Park Pool and other locations throughtout the County.  The value of these vouchers for reimbursement is up to $50.00 per voucher. This year (2019) will be the eleventh (11) year that the City of Delray Beach will enter into this agreement with the County to provide swim lessons.

Delray Beach Parks and Recreation (DBPR) anticipates that 200+ participants who utilize the DPC's Learn to Swim voucher program will attend swim classes/lessons at Pompey Park Pool if this agreement is approved for 2019.
