Background:
The CRA awarded The Center for Technology Enterprise and Development, Inc. (TED Center) a grant in the amount of $65,000 on November 13, 2018 to conduct additional customized training and support services for businesses and residents of the City of Delray Beach, and the CRA District, including local government contracting, small business certifications and youth entrepreneurship.
Below are highlights and program snapshots from the TED Center’s 2Q FY 2018-19 ending March 31, 2019.

Three workshops are scheduled during the month of May 2019 (May 10, 17, 24) to provide detailed knowledge on terms and definitions used in RFPs and RFQ’s with an additional workshop planned in June on how to complete capability statements.

A hands-on workshop was conducted in April 2019 with 39 participants and will be fully reported in the 3Q report. Additional workshops will be forthcoming in June 2019 to address those who still need to complete registrations and certifications from earlier workshops and touchpoints.

To date, 15 youth have been identified that live in the targeted area who are entrepreneurial minded. The first cohort of youth will complete the Youth Entrepreneurship Program by July 15 and the second cohort will commence the 3rd week in July 2019.
