Motion to approve Resolution No. 125-19 to award an agreement to Topline Recreation, Inc. for purchase of playground equipment, surfacing, shade structure and installation for Merritt Park improvements totaling $198,447.36 and authorize the City Manager to approve renewal options, contingent upon appropriation of funds.

 

Body

Background:

On May 14, 2019, the School Board of St. Johns County, Florida renewed their contract No. 2018-04 with Topline Recreation, Inc. for playground equipment, surfacing, shade structure and installation services. The contract is valid through June 30, 2020 with the option to renew for two additional one year periods. Merritt Park is located between SW 3rd and 4th Street and SW 2nd and 3rd Avenue.  The obstacle course playground offers a positive experience for beginners, intermediate and advanced fitness users to gain results and have fun. Users will work their entire body and enjoy a dose of healthy competition among friends, teammates or with themselves. The obstacle course playground can be used as part of an overall training plan or as a standalone way to spend time outdoors and gain the benefits of increased physical fitness. This is an approved CIP purchase.
