Motion to approve Resolution No. 142-19 to award an agreement to Hinterland Group, Inc. for the upgrade of the wastewater lift stations in the System 58A (Germantown Road) and System 87 (Military Trail) wastewater networks in an amount of $1,469,444.00.

Background:
The City of Delray Beach (City) Utilities Division has experienced failures on the force main system conveying wastewater from Lift Station 58A (located at Spanish Wells, west end of Germantown Rd) to Lift Station 58 (located at Lakeview Golf Course, near Shadywoods). Staff has also experienced failures on force main system 87, conveying wastewater north from Lift Station 87 (located at the northwest corner of the Delray Square Plaza) along Military Trial to the US Post Office. Both systems have been in service since the mid 1970’s. On May 14, 2019, the City issued ITBC 2019-028 to solicit bids for the required work.

The work required for this project includes all labor, equipment, materials, and other operations to construct wastewater force mains, reclaimed water mains and upgrade the wastewater lift stations in the System 58A (Germantown Road) and System 87 (Military Trail) wastewater networks. Proposed improvements to System 58A include installing new pump impellers, pumps, control panels and appurtenances, new open-cut force mains, placing existing force mains out of service and removing existing force mains. The electrical services and control panel will also be upgraded to accommodate the enhanced pumps.
