Background:
This agenda item requests the Commission to consider an offer made by the Plaintiff in the above-referenced case number to settle his pending case against the City. On April 19, 2019, Plaintiff made an offer in the amount of $300,000 to settle his case. That settlement offer was denied by the City Commission at its meeting on May 7, 2019. Thereafter, Plaintiff made a second proposal for settlement in the amount of $200,000 on July 26, 2019.
This case has been sealed by the Court and, accordingly, Plaintiff’s name has been withheld from disclosure.
City Attorney Review:
City Attorney recommends denial of the settlement offer for the reasons discussed in the confidential memorandum previously distributed to the City Commission dated July 30, 2019.
