Motion to approve the Work-in-Progress Presentation (Phase 1) and move forward with Phase 2 of the Marine Way Seawall and Docks Improvement Project which includes the following criteria: Engineering, Design, Permitting, and Bidding Assistance (under a separate agenda item).

Background:

On February 16, 2017, a Request for Qualifications No. 2017-030 for the conceptual design of the Marine Way roadway corridor between the Atlantic Avenue Bridge to the north and the City Marina to the south, including Deck 84 was advertised.  The scope of work included conceptual permitting and design of the roadway, stormwater collection system analysis, walkway/promenade, seawall, street lighting, and other amenities included marginal docks and coastline mitigation along the corridor of the Marine Way.

 

On September 26, 2017, the City of Delray Beach (City) City Commission approved an agreement with Wantman Group, Inc. (WGI) for the conceptual design and engineering services for Phase 1 of the Marine Way Seawall and Docks Improvements Project (P/N 17-021) in an amount not-to-exceed $284,773. 

 

WGI has completed their contractual requirements per Phase 1 - Alternative Development Phase for the Marine Way Seawall and Docks Improvement Project.

 

Presented before the City of Delray Beach City Commission is conceptual design for Marine Way Seawall and Docks Improvements for your approval to move forward into Phase 2 of RFQ No. 2017-030 (100% construction plans and specifications, permitting through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), continual public outreach, bidding, and negotiation assistance).
