Motion to approve Resolution No. 183-19 to purchase two new police vehicles from Bozard Ford in an amount not exceed $82,368 utilizing the Florida Sheriff’s Contract No. FSA19 VEL-27.0.

Background:

Police patrol vehicles 1302 and 1308, both 2013 Ford Police Interceptors have recently been involved in collisions, resulting in both cars being deemed total losses due to the damage incurred. This request is for approval to purchase two new Police Patrol cars from Bozard Ford, per the attached quotation utilizing the Florida Sheriff’s Contract No. FSA19 VEL-27.0.

 

This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies, Accessing Contracts from Other Government Agencies.

Timing of Request:

This request is time sensitive in that it is necessary to provide the Police Department with sufficient patrol vehicles to serve Public Safety interests. Considering the lead time required to order and receive the new vehicles and the additional time for upfitting of Police equipment, it is important to get these vehicles ordered as soon as possible.
