Approve ratification of the emergency acquisitions for providing backup operations, flood mitigation, and repairs of the Thomas Street Stormwater Pump Station (Project No. 18-017), in the amount of $100,364.26 to United Rentals, $3,880.62 to Industrial Divers Corp., $42,607.50 to Shenandoah Construction, $32,421.08 to Electric Motors of the Palm Beaches, $7,479.00 to MWI Pumps and $132,846.00 to Holland Pump Company, for a total cost of $319,598.46.

Background:
On March 23, 2019, the Thomas Street stormwater pump station failed which resulted in daily tidal flooding conditions, on Thomas Street, Vista del Mar Drives, and Lowery Street, which were especially heightened during king tide events.
At staff’s request, Interim City Manager Neal de Jesus approved Emergency Acquisitions relating to the pump repairs and for providing interim mitigation efforts to affected residents from the failed Thomas Street Pump Station on March 29, April 25, and June 18, 2019. The Utilities Department contracted with United Rentals, Industrial Divers Corp., Shenandoah Construction, Electric Motors of the Palm Beaches, MWI Pumps and Holland Pump Company to provide the Emergency Acquisitions as follows:
The repairs to the Thomas Street Stormwater Pump Station have been completed and the station is fully operational. The total cost to mitigate the effects from flooding to the area as well as perform the necessary repairs to the station was in the aggregate amount of $319,598.46.
