INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE DELRAY BEACH COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR THE CO-TITLE SPONSORSHIP OF THE 2020 DELRAY BEACH OPEN

Recommended Action:
Motion to approve the Interlocal Agreement with the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) for a term which will commence upon execution of the contract and terminate of September 30, 2020 for the co-title sponsorship for the 2020 Delray Beach Open Tennis Tournament in the amount of $905,000.

Background:
The sponsorship of tournaments at the Delray Beach Tennis Center (Tennis Center) helps further the mission of the CRA by assisting the Tennis Center to remain a competitive venue for major events. These events draw thousands of visitors to downtown Delray Beach including the West Atlantic Avenue area. The increase of visitors has a direct result in economic benefits for downtown merchants. This will be the twelfth (12th) year that the CRA has been a co-sponsor for this great event.
City Attorney Review:
Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
Funding is available from the Delray Beach CRA.
Timing of Request:
This needs to be approved prior to the 2020 Delray Beach Open which will take place February 14-23, 2020.
