Body
Background:
The Fire-Rescue Department has been awarded an Emergency Medical Services Grant in the amount of $12,960.00 to provide for the purchase of two Stop the Bleed Training Kits and 158 Stop the Bleed, bleeding control kits.
The Fire Rescue Department is preparing for the training and equipping of all City staff with Stop the Bleed bleeding control kits. In the wake of such recent tragedies as the Feb 14th, 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and countless other acts of extreme violence, the need for adequate training and bleeding control equipment cannot be understated. Palm Beach County has recognized this as a priority for EMS services and is providing the tools necessary for the City of Delray Beach to conduct such training.
