Recommendation

Motion to approve Resolution No. 58-20 for the purchase of a new Vac-Con Sewer Truck from Lou Bachrodt Freightliner in an amount not to exceed $484,327.00 utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Contract No. FSA18 VEH-16.0.

Body

Background:

Vac-Con Sewer Truck 6185 is in year 11 of a projected life of 10 years. As this machine has aged it has become increasing expensive to repair and maintain, more than $18,000 in the last 12 months. These repair costs only increase with age, and it is not cost effective to continue making escalating expensive repairs. This is an important piece of equipment to the function of the Stormwater Maintenance Department.   This request is for approval to purchase a new Vac-Con Sewer Truck, per the attached quote from Lou Bachrodt Freightliner utilizing the Florida Sheriff's Contract No. FA18 VEH-16.0, specification #15.

This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies, Accessing Contracts from Other Government Agencies.
