Background:
The Fire-Rescue Department is seeking permission to submit for several different grants under the FY 2019 Assistance to Firefighters Grant. The FY 2019 AFG grant requires the City to contribute 10 percent of the grant award. The Fire Rescue Department is submitting for several different grants in the estimated amount of $ 1,585,300. The City’s responsibility if all grants were awarded will be $167,890. Below are the different grants the Fire Rescue Department is seeking to submit along with the FY 2019 AFG Funding, the City’s funding and the total cost of the purchase. Please note they are not in any priority order.

City Attorney Review:

Funding Source/Financial Impact:
This is a 90/10 matching grant of federal funds from the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA. The Financial impact to the City of Delray Beach if all grant submittals are awarded is limited to $167,890 (10%).
Timing of Request:
The FY 2019 AFG grant anticipated award date is April 30, 2020.
