Motion to Approve Resolution No. 69-20 to award an Agreement with Aktiv Construction, Inc. for Delray Beach Memorial Gardens Fence pursuant to ITB no. 2020-014 in the amount of $179,739.

Background:
On May 21, 2019, City Commission approved the acceptance of a grant from the Solid Waste Authority (SWA) that was awarded to the City of Delray Beach (City) in the amount of $130,446.26. These funds are to be used by the City to improve the quality of life and provide a safer, healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the residents of Palm Beach County. This is an eligible, cost-reimbursement contract approved by SWA. The City has received this grant for the last four consecutive years.

On January 10, 2020, the City advertised ITB No. 2020-014 for Delray Beach Memorial Gardens Fence installation located at 800 SW 8th Avenue Delray Beach, FL 33444. Three bids were received from Aktiv Construction Group, Tropic Fence, Inc. and DBTECH, Inc. After review of the bids, Aktiv Construction Group has been deemed the responsive and responsible vendor recommend for award. City staff recommends award to Aktiv Construction Inc. in the amount of $171,180 including a 5% contingency $8,559 for a total of $179,739 It is noted that the remaining funds will return to the Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund if unused.

The contract will provide revitalization, removal and installation of fencing along the perimeter of Delray Beach Memorial Gardens to improve the aesthetics of the property.

The acquisition of service is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 36 and City Policies and Procedures.
