Recommendation
Motion to approve Resolution No. 141-20 for the purchase of one (1) new Pierce Velocity Fire Apparatus in an amount not-to-exceed $1,475,000 utilizing the Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract No. FSA20-VEF14.02.

Body
Background:
On May 1, 2020 the Florida Sheriff's Association awarded Contract No. FSA20-VEF14.02 (FSA Contract) with manufacturers and authorized dealers for the purchase of Fire Rescue vehicles. The FSA Contract is valid from May 1, 2020 through March 31, 2023.

The City of Delray Beach (City) has a need to purchase a new Fire Aerial Platform Apparatus utilizing the FSA Contract's pricing, terms, and conditions. Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. has provided a proposal in the amount of $1,464,172. Staff requests a contingency fund of $10,828 to allow unforeseen costs, such as specification changes.

Fire Rescue Aerial Platform Truck No. 200350 has exceeded its’ life expectancy as a front- line emergency response apparatus and is scheduled for replacement in the Capital Improvement Plan for the current (FY2019/20) Fiscal year. Upon acceptance of a new Aerial Platform truck, Vehicle No. 200350 will be moved into Reserve status for the balance of its’ life cycle.

This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies, Accessing Contracts from Other Government Agencies and Not-for-Profit Organizations.
