Motion to approve the nomination for appointment for six (6) regular members to serve on the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for a two (2) year term ending July 31, 2022.

Background:
Nominations for appointment are needed for six (6) regular members to serve two (2) year terms ending July 31, 2022.

On April 1, 2008, the Delray Beach City Commission adopted Resolution No. 12-08 establishing the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for the purpose of recommending monetary and/or non-monetary incentives for affordable housing to the City Commission. The City of Delray Beach desires to continue receiving SHIP funds and desires to comply with the requirements of House Bill 1375. On January 17, 2012, Resolution No. 05-12 was adopted to amend Resolution 12-08 to allow for fewer than 11 members if they are unable to find representatives who meet the following criteria of paragraphs (a) - (k).


(a) One citizen who is actively engaged in the residential home building industry in connection with affordable housing.

(b) One citizen who is actively engaged in the banking or mortgage banking industry in connection with affordable housing.

(c) One citizen who is a representative of those areas of labor actively engaged in home building in connection with affordable housing.

(d) One citizen who is actively engaged as an advocate for low-income persons in connection with affordable housing.

(e) One citizen who is actively engaged as a for-profit provider of affordable housing.

(f) One citizen who is actively engaged as a not-for-profit provider of affordable housing.

(g) One citizen who is actively engaged as a real estate professional in connection with affordable housing.
