Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Motion to approve an increased amount of $258,324 to the initial contract term with Prolime Corporation for an overall revised initial term total of $749,157 and for a total estimated amount of $1,679,157 over the extended term if all renewal options are exercised within the contract, for wet lime sludge hauling from the water treatment process for the Utilities Department.

Body
Background:
On April 16, 2019, City Commission approved an Agreement with Prolime Corporation (Resolution 95-19) for wet lime sludge hauling from the water treatment plant as part of the water treatment process. The Agreement is valid through September 24, 2021 with three (3), additional one-year renewal options. At that time, the value of the initial term (29 months) was inadvertently misrepresented as a total of $490,833. This request is to rectify the amount estimated for the initial term of the contract from $490,833 to $749,157 which represents an increased total of $258,324 to the initial term, and total overall value of the contract if all renewal options if exercised from $1,420,833 to $1,679,157.

This Agreement is for the hauling of wet lime sludge (slurry) from the lime sludge reactor unit located at the City’s water treatment plant at 434 South Swinton Avenue to sites approved by Florida Department of Environmental Protection, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Staff requests a contract additional increase of $258,324 for wet lime sludge hauling services to the initial term.
