NOMINATION FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD

Motion to approve the nomination for an appointment for three (3) regular members to serve on the Code Enforcement Board for a term ending January 14, 2024.  Motion to approve the nomination for appointment of one (1) alternate member to serve on the Code Enforcement Board for an unexpired term ending January 14, 2022.

 

Body

Background:

The terms for regular members, Mr. Stanley Brodka and Ms. Nicole Fontaine, will expire on January 14, 2021.  Mr. Stanley Brodka will have served two (2) full terms and is not eligible for reappointment.  Ms. Nicole Fontaine will have served one (1) full term, is eligible, and would like to be nominated for reappointment.  There is a vacancy due to the resignation of  Mr. Romain Cluet. The term will expire on January 14, 2021.    Please be advised that Mr. Michael Schiff is an alternate member and would like to be considered for regular membership.  Nominations for appointments are needed for three (3) regular members to serve a three (3) year term ending January 14, 2024. 

 

Also, there is a vacancy due to the resignation of  Ms. Carla Stewart. The term is unexpired, ending January 14, 2022. Nomination for an appointment is needed for one (1) alternate member to serve an unexpired term ending January 14, 2022.

 

All members of the Code Enforcement Board must be residents of the City.  Appointments to both regular and alternate member positions shall be based on experience or interest in the fields of zoning and building control.  The regular and alternate member of the Board shall, whenever possible, include an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a subcontractor, and a realtor. 

 

The following individuals have submitted applications and would like to be nominated for an appointment:

A check for code violations and municipal liens was conducted.  None were found.  Voter registration verification was completed, and all are registered.

 

Based on the rotation system and seat vacancies, the nominations for appointment will be made by Commissioner Frankel (Seat #1) for one (1) regular member to serve a three (3) year term ending January 14, 2024.  Commissioner Casale (Seat #2) will make a nomination for an appointment of one (1) alternate member to serve an unexpired term ending January 14, 2022. 

 

Vice-Mayor Boylston (Seat #3) will make a nomination for an appointment for one (1) regular member to serve a three (3) year term ending January 14, 2024.  Deputy Vice-Mayor Johnson (Seat #4) will make a nomination for an appointment for one (1) regular member to serve a three (3) year term ending January 14, 2024.
