Staff recommends approval of Ordinance No. 12-21 providing additional methods of collecting payment and imposing interest for delinquent Fire Safety Inspection charges; providing a conflict clause, a severability clause and authority to codify; providing an effective date and for other purposes.
Body
Background:
The Fire Rescue Department conducts Fire Safety Inspections of all business occupancies in the City through the Fire Marshal's office. This service is provided at a cost to each responsible party according to the established fee schedule. Currently there is no mechanism to enforce collection of delinquent fees. This ordinance amendment would provide a mechanism for collection of fees owed to the City of Delray Beach.

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
This ordinance amendment would increase collections and revenue to the City.
Timing of Request:
There is no time sensitivity requirement.
