Motion to approve Resolution No. 71-21 for the purchase of one (1) new Pierce Enforcer Fire Apparatus in the amount of $889,033 utilizing the Florida Sheriff’s Association (FSA) Contract No. FSA20-VEF14.02 and authorizing prepayment upon receipt of a 100% performance bond.

Background:
On May 1, 2020, the FSA awarded Contract No. FSA20-VEF14.02 with manufacturers and authorized dealers for the purchase of Fire Rescue vehicles. The FSA Contract is valid from May 1, 2020 through March 31, 2023.

The City of Delray Beach (City) has a need to purchase a new Fire Special Operations Apparatus utilizing the FSA Contract pricing, terms, and conditions. Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. has provided a proposal in the amount of $921,223 which includes a $16,177.00 (3%) discount off of the specified options and an additional $5,000 discount. A prepayment discount of $32,190.00 is being applied to the purchase price, reducing the final cost to $889,033. A 100% Performance Bond is included to protect the city from risk.

Fire Rescue Special Operations Truck 200684 has exceeded its life expectancy as a front- line emergency response apparatus and is scheduled for replacement in the approved CIP for the current (FY2020/21) fiscal year. Upon acceptance of a new Special Operations truck, Vehicle #200684 will be moved into reserve status for the balance of its life cycle.
