Background:

The terms for Ms. Cory Cassidy and Mr. Pierre Brutus (At-Large-Representative) will expire on July 31, 2021.  Ms. Cory Cassidy will have served eight (8) consecutive terms and would like to be nominated for appointment.  Section 32.41 (B) in the Code of Ordinances provides authorization of an additional two (2) year term by a majority vote of the City Commission.  Mr. Pierre Brutus will have served one (1) full term, is eligible, and would not like to nominated for reappointment.  Nominations for an appointment are needed for two (2) At-Large-Representatives to serve a two (2) year term ending July 31, 2023.

The Kids and Cops Committee was established as an Advisory Board to the Commission in May 1994, with the adoption of Ordinance No. 20-94, amended November 2019 by the adoption of Ordinance No. 40-19.  Its primary goal is to strengthen the relationship between the local youth of our community and members of the Delray Beach Police Department through various programs and activities.  It is composed of representatives from the City's Police Department and Parks and Recreation Departments.  Over the years, membership has evolved to include an "At-Large-Representative," which has provided the opportunity for interested residents to participate in the program.  The City Commission directly appoints members to fill the "At-Large-Representatives" category.  The other appointments are made by the various groups involved and presented to the Commission for ratification.

The following individuals have submitted applications and would like to be nominated for appointment.
