Review and consider improvements to Old School Square proposed by the Old School Square Center for the Arts, Inc.

Background:
The Old School Square Center for the Arts proposes interior renovations to the Crest Theater in two phases. Phase 1 provides for new display cases and benches, changes to the Lobby, Box Office, and the Concession Bar, new glass and steel stairway railings, and restroom improvements. No changes to the auditorium, existing studios, meeting rooms, or storage rooms are proposed. Phase 2 provides for the replacement of the existing kitchen to a new commercial kitchen, acoustic treatment in the ceiling of the Ocean Breeze room, interior finish changes to the elevator, and minor interior repairs to existing wallboard.
Interior renovations do not require review by the Historic Preservation Board.
City Attorney Review:
Reviewed to form and legal sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
Funding for the project is provided by the Old School Square Center for the Arts, Inc.
Timing of Request:
A building permit has been issued for the interior renovation.
