Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Seeking City Commission direction on whether or not to accept the donation and have the sculpture installed as outlined.

If approved, also authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement to accept the donation.

Body

Background:

The Pineapple Grove Arts District approached the Public Arts Advisory Board (PAAB) on June 29, 2021 with an offer to donate a dog sculpture.

PAAB approved recommending the offer to the City Commission by a 4-0 vote with an additional recommendation to place the sculpture at 325 NW 2nd Avenue (between commercial units #102 and #103).

Upon consultation with Public Works, this location was identified for a possible art installation as it does not conflict with parking, building access or pedestrian movement.

City Attorney Review:

N/A

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Staff time and a minimal amount of resources would be required to execute an acceptance of the donation and for its installation.
