For City Commission consideration of an annual funding agreement for five years, pending budgetary approval each year, in the amount of $50,000 per year plus an additional $50,000 per year earmarked for a dedicated Archivist. Twenty percent of the cost of the Archivist per year ($10,000) will be reimbursed to the City from the Community Redevelopment Authority (CRA).

Background:
The Delray Beach Historical Society, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation that was established in 1985 to collect, preserve, catalogue, display, for educational purposes, material and data pertaining to the history of the City of Delray Beach.
A previous five year funding agreement, in the amount of $50,000 per year, expired on September 30, 2021.
This new funding agreement seeks the same $50,000 each year, with an additional $50,000 each year earmarked for a dedicated Archivist , pending the city budget approval, for five years. Total funding yearly is $100,000 with an amount of $10,000 yearly being reimbursed to the City from the Community Redevelopment Authority for the Archivist pending the authorization of an Inter Local Agreement.
The addition of the Archivist funding, amending Exhibit A No. 5 from two major exhibitions to one with two smaller off-site exhibits per year, and other changes for legal sufficiency, are the only changes from the previous agreement.
City Attorney Review:
Approved as to form and legal Sufficiency.
Funding Source/Financial Impact:
Funding in the amount of $100,000 is allocated in the FY2022 adopted budget.
