For City Commission consideration of an annual funding agreement for five years, pending budgetary approval each year, in the amount of $31,000 per year.

Background:

 Expanding and Preserving our Cultural Heritage, Inc. (EPOCH) is a not-for-profit corporation that was formed in 1996 to serve and operate the Spady Cultural Heritage Museum in an effort to preserve the history of Black Americans through exhibits, archives, lectures and other programming.        

 

A previous five year funding agreement, in the amount of $31,000 each year, expired on September 30, 2021. This new funding agreement seeks the same $31,000 amount each ear, pending the city budget approval, for five years.

 

The only change from the previous agreement is for legal sufficiency.

 

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

 

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Funding in the amount of $31,000 is allocated in the FY2022 adopted budget.
