Recommendation

Motion to approve Amendment No. 1 to authorize a price adjustment and to approve the renewal of the City’s Agreement with Prolime Corporation for Wet Lime Sludge Hauling in the total estimated renewal value of $600,000 through September 24, 2024, utilizing Collier County Solicitation No. 18-7416.

Body

Background:

On April 16, 2019, City Commission approved an Agreement with Prolime Corporation for Wet Lime Sludge Hauling; pursuant to Resolution No. 95-19, utilizing existing contract terms, conditions, and pricing of Solicitation No. 18-7416 procured by Collier County (County).

On October 20, 2020, the City approved an increase to the spending authority during the initial contract term. On September 24, 2021, the County exercised its first option to renew Solicitation No. 18-7416 through September 24, 2024. On October 12, 2021, the County approved the First Amendment to the Agreement authorizing a price adjustment effective with the start of the renewal term on September 25, 2021. This First Amendment increased the price of the hauling and disposal of lime sludge from $17.29 to $24.90 per cubic yard. The City’s typical hauling load is 30 cubic yards. This increase represents a total estimated increase of $7.61 per cubic yard or $228.30 per 30 cubic yard load.

This Agreement is for the hauling of wet lime sludge (slurry) from the lime sludge reactor unit located at the City’s water treatment plant at 434 South Swinton Avenue to sites approved by Florida Department of Environmental Protection, in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
