Title

MOTION TO APPROVE SECOND AMENDMENT TO LEASE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF DELRAY BEACH AND CELLCO PARTNERSHIP D/B/A VERIZON WIRELESS.

Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to approve second amendment to lease agreement between the City of Delray Beach and Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless.

Body

Background:

The City of Delray Beach entered into an agreement with Primeco Personal Communications Limited Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless to lease space on the communications tower located at 300 West Atlantic Avenue (the Police Department Headquarters) on November 2, 2000.  Subsequently, on September 17, 2009, the lease was amended to permit Verizon to install a ground-level generator at the tower.

The original agreement permitted Verizon to install up to 9 antennas and 9 cable lines on the tower.  As wireless communications have expanded, Verizon now wishes to expand their equipment on the tower to include: twelve (12) antennas, twelve (12) RRUs, two (2) OVPs, two (2) hybrid cables and eighteen (18) coaxial cable lines in the tower space. The amendment also reflects Primeco name change to Cellco Partnership and a requirement for Cellco to comply with certain security requirements for their employees, contractors, subcontractors, and others.
