Body

Recommended Action:

Recommendation

Motion to Approve Resolution 71-22.

Body

Background:

This Resolution, if approved, would authorize the City Manager to execute settlement agreements in the matter of In re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation, MDL No. 2804 (N.D. Ohio).  The Commission has been presented with settlement offers in this matter and, in order to promote efficiencies and avoid delays, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to execute any future settlements.  The City’s outside counsel concurs with this recommendation.

City Attorney Review:

Approved as to form and legal sufficiency.

Funding Source/Financial Impact:

Any funds recovered could only be used for abatement purposes.
