Background:
This Resolution, if approved, would authorize the City’s Risk Management Division (“Division”) to settle bodily injury claims. Currently, the Division is only authorized to settle property damage claims in the amount of $15,000. Very often, bodily injury claims accompany property damage claims. This Resolution would allow the Division to have the ability to review claims holistically and efficiently as opposed to the current format where the claims are separately considered.
