Motion to approve the Agreement between the City of Delray Beach (City) and Triple Threat DBA American Academy.

BACKGROUND:
The American Academy is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit Organization that serves the youth and the community. It provides a safe and caring after-school, tutoring, sports and summer camp programs along with community activities, such as walkathons, all within the Palm Beach County Schools. The agency focus is directly on disadvantaged elementary and middle school students. These youth-development programs allow the American Academy Learning Center to build on and promote students throughout the community to become successful in all areas in their lives, one step at a time.

The Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC) serves to enrich the quality of life and promote a sense of community through the delivery and connection of services that educate, develop leadership skills and promote volunteerism, civic engagement and productive lifestyles.

The City, entered in this individual Agreement, at its January 4, 2022 City Commission meeting. The above-mentioned organization is to provide services at the NRC Phase 1 facility, located at 141 SW 12th Avenue. Under the Agreement, the City will provide access to office space, and office/communications equipment. The agency is currently approved to operate at the NRC for a 2-year term with three (3) additional one-year terms ending one year from date of execution.
