Motion to approve the nomination for an appointment for one (1) regular member to serve on the Board of Adjustment for a two (2) year term ending August 31, 2024.
Body
Background:
The term for Mr. Alexander Candia will expire on August 31, 2022. Mr. Alexander Candia will have served one (1) full term and is eligible, but would not like to be considered for reappointment. Nomination for an appointment is needed for one (1) regular member to serve a two (2) year term ending August 31, 2024.
The Board of Adjustment shall consist of seven (7) regular members. To qualify for appointment, a person shall be either a resident of or own property in the City and/or own a business within the City. In addition, the City Commission shall fill three seats on the board with either an architect, landscape architect, realtor/real estate broker, engineer, general contractor or land planner. The remaining two seats shall be at large. The Commission shall endeavor to appoint as many disciplines as possible to the board.
On November 2, 2021, the Commission-approved Ordinance No. 21-21 to allow amending the Land Development Regulations of the City of Delray Beach Code of Ordinances to revise the board member composition from five (5) to seven (7) regular members.
The following individuals have applied and would like to be nominated for an appointment:

A check for code violations and/or municipal liens was conducted. None were found. Voter registration verification was completed, and all are registered.
Based on the rotation system, the nomination for an appointment for one (1) regular member to serve a two (2) year term ending August 31, 2024, will be made by Deputy Vice-Mayor Casale (Seat #2).
