Background:
Chapter 102 of the Code of Ordinance ("Code"), "Streets and Sidewalks," Section 102.25, "Recommendation and Designation of Names and Numbers for Streets," establishes the process for the designation of names for streets. The proposed amendments provide an update to expand the naming of streets by specifying that the process is also applicable to alleys and other pathways providing access for either vehicles, bicycles, or pedestrians. The proposed amendments also include a reference to the City of Delray Beach Addressing and Street Naming Manual ("Manual").
The subject request is a companion to Ordinance No. 18-22, which amends the Land Development Regulations (LDR) to reflect similar updates. The Manual will be scheduled for approval at the same time as the Second Reading for Ordinance Nos. 18-22 and 28-22.
