Recommendation
Motion to Resolution No. 113-22 to award an Agreement with Tanner Industries, Inc. for purchase and delivery of Anhydrous Ammonia utilizing Manatee County Solicitation #22-R078535SB in an amount not to exceed $348,000 and authorize the City Manager to approval renewal options, in the amounts below, contingent upon the appropriation of funds.
Body
Background:
On June 1, 2022, Manatee County approved an Agreement with Allied Universal Corp., Biosafe Systems, LLC, Carmeuse Lime & Stone, Inc., Donau Carbon US LLC, Linde, Inc., Odyssey Manufacturing Co., Polydyne Inc., Sterling Water Technologies, LLC., Tanner Industries, Inc., and Thatcher Chemical of Florida, Inc. for the provision of Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals including supply and delivery of Anhydrous Ammonia. The original term of the agreement was for one (1) year, effective June 1, 2022, through May 31, 2023, with four (4) additional one (1) year periods.
Anhydrous Ammonia (ammonia without water) in conjunction with chlorine, is used in the water treatment process to produce potable water. When combined, these chemicals produce chloramines, which last longer than chlorine and offer consistent bacterial control. It also helps by regulating disinfectant by-products. This is a critical chemical used in the water treatment process.
Should the City exercise the renewal options provided in the Agreement, the cumulative Agreement value is provided below.
