Motion to approve Resolution 149-22 approving Police Communications Agreement to provide police communications services to the Town of Gulf Stream
Body
Background:
On October 30, 2017, the Town of Gulf Stream entered into an Agreement with the City of Delray Beach, to obtain Police Dispatching and Communications Services. In April 2022, an Amendment to the Agreement was done to include sections regarding compliance with the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy and security incident response measures. The Agreement has effective date of October 1, 2017, and a termination date of September 30, 2022.
This new Agreement will allow the City of Delray Beach Police Department to continue to provide police communication services to the Town of Gulf Stream. The City shall provide dispatching and communication services to include the handling of radio dispatching of police and 911 calls. The City will retain exclusive control over all equipment and personnel used in providing the services in accordance with this agreement, except for any radios and/or equipment required to be purchased by the Town of Gulf Stream. The Agreement effective date will be October 1, 2022 and termination date will be September 30, 2027. The Town and the City may terminate this Agreement at any time following sixty (60) days written notice. The Town of Gulf Stream will pay the basic service fee of $62,762 for FY 2022/2023. The basic service fee will be adjusted each year from the previous year in an amount based upon the "All Urban Consumers-United States" April Consumer Price Index.
