Background:
With the current Fiscal Year 2022-2023 proposed budget process having offered additional analysis relative to revenue forecasting based on robust increases in assessed property valuation, as well as resulting direction to lower the City's operation millage rate, leadership from both the Office of the City Manager and the Department of Finance recently met with the Office of the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser Dorothy Jacks to discuss related considerations.
As Ms. Jacks has likewise been gracious in her role as Palm Beach County Property Appraiser in visiting with municipal officials to engage as outlined, I've invited her to join us for a City Commission meeting presentation to offer an education relative to analysis criteria and modeling necessary to support communities, as well as to discuss related nuances specific to Delray Beach.
