Approve the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Delray Beach (“City”) and the Delray Beach Redevelopment Agency (“CRA”) for partnership for the 2023 Delray Beach Open Tennis Tournament (“Tournament”), in an amount not to exceed $905,000, in substantially the attached form.

Body
Background:
At the September 29, 2022 CRA Board meeting, the Board adopted the CRA Annual Budget for Fiscal Year 2022-2023 (“Annual Budget”). The CRA’s Annual Budget allocates funds for this matter in an amount not to exceed $905,000. The Tournament takes place from February 10, 2023 to February 19, 2023 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center. The CRA has provided the following funds in prior years as follows:

The Delray Beach Tennis Center is located with the CRA’s District. The Tournament attracts numerous spectators to the Community Redevelopment Area who also patronize local businesses, which provides a beneficial economic impact to those businesses located within the Community Redevelopment Area and provides an opportunity for the CRA to disseminate community redevelopment information. The Tournament will also provide the CRA with the unique opportunity to survey and obtain feedback from the community on upcoming CRA redevelopment projects.
