Motion to approve Resolution No. 54-24 to retroactively approve a City Standard Agreement with Badger Meter, inc., for water meter technology products for the Utilities in a total not-to-exceed estimated amount of $320,000 (respectively $160,000 per year).

Background:
On January 15, 2015, City Commission under Solicitation No. 2013-17 approved an Agreement with Innovative Metering Solutions, Inc., for the procurement and installation of a comprehensive advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and water meter replacement project for Utilities. On April 4, 2018, Innovative Metering Solutions, Inc., was acquired by Badger Meter, Inc.
The Utilities Department desires to continue to procure these products and services from Badger Meter, Inc., with a two-year Agreement term in accordance with the City’s Standard policy to support the existing meter infrastructure. The Agreement will allow Utilities purchases on as needed basis by providing supplies related to daily operations for new metered connections, meter service upgrades of both potable and reclaimed meters, replacement of damaged registers, collectors, and metering interface units, as well as capture water metering data via fixed radio antennas (gateways) to Badger Beacon (Beacon) customer “eye on water” portal.
This motion is in accordance with the Code of Ordinances Chapter 36, Commission Approval Required and Purchasing Policies.
