Recommended Action:

Special Events Technical Advisory Committee (SETAC) recommends the Development Services Management Group (DSMG) make a motion to approve the special event known as Get Your Green On Main Event to be held on May 31, 2024; and authorize the Special Event Manager (SEM) to take all actions necessary to effectuate the Special Event Permit.

Body

Background:

Cape Universal submitted a Special Event Application on February 29, 2024 in partnership with Healthier Delray Beach for the Event Get Your Green On Main Event.  This is a Multicultural Youth Awareness Arts Festival.  This event will serve as the county-wide main event for the Get Your Green On Mental Health Awareness & Trauma Informed Care campaign with a direct focus on multicultural resiliency and community healing.  The event will be inclusive of displays of youth artwork, performances, creative and entrepreneurial skills. There will be resource representation from all county-wide partner organizations, agencies, and individuals to provide interactive community engagement that leads to education, capacity building, and a healing environment.  The expected attendance is 1,500 people.  This is the inaugural event.

Special Event Advisory Committee (SETAC):

SETAC recommends DSMG approve the event.
