Body
Recommended Action:
Recommendation
Allow each organization to make their presentation and ask questions of each as the Commissioners deem appropriate.
Body
Background:
Each year during a budget workshop, the non-profit organizations that have on-going funding agreements with the City are asked to present to the Commission regarding their achievements during the past year and to discuss these accomplishments and future endeavors. To this end, staff has reached out to the 8 non-profits that currently receive funding and have asked them to prepare such a presentation along with anything else they would like to share or discuss with the Commission.
Each organization has been asked to prepare for a 10 minute presentation and a roughly 5 minute question and answer session.
The presentations have been scheduled in the following order (with the amount of the organization's funding in the current FY):
A. Delray Rocks*
1. Grant for expenses ($100,000)
2. Waived Special Event Fees ($45,859)

* - Delray Rocks receives a grant for expenses and their events have been treated as a partnership with the City in which the City has covered 100% of the costs associated with their events (their games). Theses costs are generally the costs for Police and Fire Rescue services. The $45,859 noted are the cost estimates for the Rocks current season of home games from August 8, 20266 thru October 31, 2026.
** - The Library's funding agreement governs an annual allocation granted to the library (not a pre-set amount) through the City's annual budget. The agreement also provides for the City will pay the
Library's portion of the costs of operations and maintenance of the South County Courthouse parking facilities (an amount equal to 30% of the County's annual cost - this is a variable amount year-to-year). The amount shows was the amount paid in 2026 for 2025 expenses. The amount due for 2026 (For which we will be billed in November 2026)is anticipated to be $49,140.87
All eight (8) of the organizations have a funding agreements that expire at the end of the current fiscal year (Achievement Center for Children and Families has two agreements (as shown above)).
