Select wayfinding signage designs and direct Staff to continue the design work of the final design and sign array.

Background:
At its meeting of May 14, 2019, the CRA Board approved work assignment with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KH) for the Wayfinding Signage Design Project to replace the wayfinding signs in the CRA District. The scope of work includes services from design development to bidding assistance including meetings, design development, construction/ bidding documents, permitting, and bidding assistance. This proposal excludes construction administration services.
The cost for the services is a not to exceed cost of $147,850.00.

The steering committee for this project includes staff from the Downtown Development Authority, Parking and Planning Departments from the City and CRA. There have been five meetings with the Steering committee. The different rounds of sketches have been discussed and shared with the CRA Board members for further input.

The Steering Committee has selected three options for the CRA Board’s consideration and selection in order to develop final designs and sign array. Additionally, KH has analyzed and is presenting the location of the vehicular signs and sign content.

On December 10, 2019, CRA and KH staff presented an update to the Board. CRA Board directed staff to include color pallets for the signs options and review other sign examples provided by Board Members.

Today, CRA staff requests the CRA Board to select one of the presented options to develop final designs and sign array. The next steps of this project include elaboration of bid documents, permitting, bidding, and bid evaluation. The estima...
