Motion to approve and execute Amendment No. 01 to the Grant Agreement No. 4600003488 with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD), for providing supplementary funding for the Area 12C Reclaimed Water System expansion project in the amount of $400,000, Project No. 2016-024, as part of their Cooperative Funding Program for Alternative Water Supply (AWS).

Background:
Since 2004, the City of Delray Beach (City) has maintained an annual program for expansion of its reclaimed water transmission system to provide an alternative irrigation source to City utility customers. Under the AWS Program, SFWMD was able to provide supplemental funding for each of our expansion projects in previous years.

In March 2016, the City was notified by the SFWMD that their AWS program was accepting applications for projects proposed for construction in fiscal year 2017/2018. In March 2016, the City utilized an approved engineering consultant, Mathews Consulting, retained through RFQ #2012-06 to perform the design, permitting and grant assistance for possible AWS funding. Through our consultant, on May 20, 2016, the City submitted its application to request funding assistance for the Area 12C Reclaimed Water system expansion; which the City Commission ratified at the June 21, 2016 City Commission meeting.
