Motion to approve Amendment No. 1 Funding Agreement between the City of Delray Beach and the Community Child Care Center of Delray Beach, Inc. to dedicate $52,000 of the previously approved $77,000 to be used solely for funding and operation of programs at Pine Grove Elementary school and Village Academy.

Background:

At its meeting of December 6, 2016, the City Commission approved Service Provider Agreements for five non-profit agencies: The Community Child Care Center of Delray Beach (d/b/a Achievement Centers for Children and Families - “ACCF”), The Friends of Sandoway House Nature Center, EPOCH, Boys and Girls Club of Palm Beach County, and Delray Beach Historical Society.

The Agreement for ACCF provided funding of $25,000 for up to five years (September 30, 2021) to deliver programming and services for low-income children and families at all three of their operating sites (Family Resource Center, Village Academy and Pine Grove). It also provided the establishment of an annual report to verify Performance Standards had been met. During the discussion of this item, it was noted that ACCF received additional funding from the City to support out-of-school programming at Pine Grove and Village Academy ($52,000) as well as Community Development Block Grant dollars (funding varies through grant process). After a short discussion, the Commission directed the City Manager to combine the Pine Grove/Village Academy funding of $52,000 with the $25,000 for a total of $77,000 to provide services as outlined in the Service Provider Agreement.
