Motion to approve purchase of one Caterpillar forklift, three Ford F-550 4x2 F5G pick-up trucks, one Ford F-150 4x2 pick-up truck, and one Oilmen's fuel tanker in an amount not-to-exceed $447,399 utilizing the Florida Sheriff’s Association Contract No. FSA17-VEL25.0.

Background:
On October 1, 2017, the Florida Sheriff's Association (FSA) awarded Contract No. FSA17-VEL25.0 to 23 local car dealerships that offer police rated special service vehicles, administrative vehicles, hybrid vehicles, pick-up trucks, vans, vehicle mobility transport and police motorcycles by geographical locations, for the purchase of over 200 different vehicle makes and models. The contract is valid from October 13, 2017, through September 30, 2018.

The Utilities Department requests purchase of three Ford F-550 pick-up trucks from Duval Ford Fleet Sales for $179,964, one Caterpillar forklift from Kelly Tractor for $92,000, and one Oilmen's oil/fuel tanker truck from Lou Bachrodt Freightliner for $151,515. The vehicle prices were all received using the FSA contract. The procurement of these vehicles and equipment is requested from the Utilities Department's fiscal year 2017-2018 budget.

The Utilities Department's Utility Maintenance Division will be primarily using the equipment to: load test and maintain 48 large portable generators; tow and deploy generator units to their appropriate staged pre-storm locations during training events and if an actual hurricane or other emergency event occurs; transport fuel to deployed and undeployed generators; and maneuver other miscellaneous equipment as needed (in the interim, the Utilities Depar...
