APPROVAL OF THE REINSTATEMENT AND FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH REP SERVICES, INC. FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AT REV. J.W.H. THOMAS JR. PARK
Recommended Action:
Approval of the Reinstatement and First Amendment to the Agreement with Rep Services, Inc. to provide services for the materials and labor to install new playground equipment at the Rev. J.W.H. Thomas Jr. Park located at 46 SW 9th Avenue, Delray Beach, FL 33444, piggybacking the terms of the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Agreement with the Clay County Interlocal Agreement, and extending the termination date of the Agreement.
Approval of Resolution No. 2022-06 approving the Reinstatement and First Amendment to the Agreement with Rep Services, Inc. for the installation of a new playground equipment at Rev. J.W.H. Thomas Jr. Park utilizing a Clay County agreement entered into pursuant to solicitation No. RFP 18/19-2; authorizing the CRA Executive Director to Execute any amendments and take all actions necessary to effectuate the agreement; providing for an effective date.
Background:
On August 31, 2021, the Delray Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Board (CRA Board) supported the installation of a new playground equipment at Rev. J.W.H Thomas Jr. Park based on a proposal, provided by a playground equipment company, Rep Services, Inc.
The City of Delray Beach Parks and Recreation Department piggybacks off Clay County’s agreement with Rep Services, Inc. and utilizes their services throughout the City. The Clay County agreement is based off of Clay County RFP No. 18/19-2 Various Equipment and Amenities for Parks and Playgrounds.
On November 21, 2021, the CRA Board approved the Agreement with Rep Services, Inc. in the amount of $151,439.23 for the installation of new playground equipment, piggybacking the terms of the Clay County agreement for Various Equipment and Amenities for Parks and Playgrounds. The initial termination date of the CRA’s Agreement with Rep Services, Inc. was June 2, 2022. However, work had not begun at that time due to the additional time needed for obtaining a certified Class I Site Plan Modification, an approved Building Permit, and delivery of the playground equipment.
At this time, CRA Staff is requesting the CRA Board approve the Reinstatement of the CRA’s Agreement with Rep Services, Inc. in the amount of $151,439.23 for the installation of new playground equipment, piggybacking the terms of the Clay County Contract for Various Equipment and Amenities for Parks and Playgrounds, approve the First Amendment extending the termination date of the CRA’s Agreement with Rep Services, Inc. to September 30, 2022, and approve Resolution No 2022-06.
